THE POWER OF KARMA!
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
‘To action alone thou has the rights, never to the fruits thereof’
This quote has for centuries, inspired mankind to stay on course of one’s duty towards one’s work without having any sort of attachment to results. However, I wonder didn’t one always know that results are anyways one cannot control. The only thing one can actually control is action. Then why we end up thinking about results?
Here is a short string of my thoughts you may find worth reading!
As the year comes to end, I sit here reflecting how it went by,
I worked very hard, at work or in life, aspiring as always to soar high,
reflecting on the challenges that passed by;
was it the people that I worked with, or was it the work that was tough?
or may it was health or some situation gone rough,
Could it be the timing, or could it be my ignorance?
Or may be it could just be my non-chalance,
no matter the reason, yes things didn’t always go like planned
but I focused on the ‘doing’, the task given at hand,
because the ‘what’ and ‘how’ is what falls in our authority,
the ‘why’ and ‘when’ is the decision of the almighty,
so why to think of challenges that stood in your path,
let us celebrate our wins, and the fruits of our work
let us only spend time on the ‘what’ and ‘how’,
let the end be a mystery, and the life be all ‘now’
as I reflect more deeply on the year that is ending,
I learn to focus on sowing, and water the little sapling,
I give them shade, and protect them from the winds,
and that’s my duty, thats my power,
I sow the seed, without waiting by the hour,
I focus on the now, and with hope I assume
the sapling will be a tree someday, and the flower will bloom!
